MadarStack (“MadarStack”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) builds and sells software for WordPress and WooCommerce, including Cart2Chat Commerce. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit madarstack.com, purchase or use our products, request support, or use a website on which Cart2Chat Commerce is installed.
1. Who we are
The data controller for the MadarStack website, store, licensing service, and direct customer support is MadarStack, based in Cairo, Egypt. Our website is https://madarstack.com/. Privacy requests may be sent to privacy@madarstack.com.
2. Information we collect
Website and account information. When you visit our website, create an account, place an order, or contact us, we may receive your name, email address, billing address, country, company name, order and subscription details, support messages, IP address, browser and device information, and standard server logs.
Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as PayPal. We receive payment status, transaction identifiers, payer details made available by the provider, and the information needed to fulfil and account for your order. We do not store complete card numbers or payment-account passwords.
Cart2Chat Commerce licensing and updates. The Pro version communicates with MadarStack’s licensing service to activate, validate, deactivate, and update a license. These requests may include the license key, the website URL or domain, the Cart2Chat product identifier, and the installed plugin version. License checks occur periodically while the Pro plugin is active. We use this information to prevent unauthorized use, enforce the purchased site limit, deliver updates, provide support, and keep the product secure.
Store and analytics data. Cart2Chat settings and its local analytics are stored in the merchant’s own WordPress database unless a merchant separately enables or connects another service. MadarStack does not receive those local analytics through the standard plugin merely because the plugin is installed.
WhatsApp interactions. Cart2Chat creates WhatsApp links containing the merchant’s destination phone number and a message prepared from settings selected by the merchant. Depending on configuration, the message may include product names, prices, quantities, cart totals, page or product URLs, and text entered or selected by the visitor. The visitor reviews and initiates the handoff to WhatsApp. Once the link is opened or a message is sent, information is processed by WhatsApp/Meta under its own terms and privacy policy. Standard Cart2Chat links do not send the contents of the resulting WhatsApp conversation to MadarStack.
3. How we use information
- Provide the website, store, downloads, licenses, updates, and customer accounts.
- Process orders, refunds, renewals, and related transactional emails.
- Activate and validate licenses and protect our products against fraud and unauthorized use.
- Respond to support, security, privacy, and product inquiries.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and secure MadarStack services.
- Comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations.
- Send product or marketing communications where permitted, with an option to unsubscribe from non-essential messages.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we process personal data as necessary to perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as security, licensing, support and service improvement, or based on consent where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Sharing and service providers
We may share only the information reasonably necessary with hosting and infrastructure providers, WooCommerce and WordPress-related service providers, email-delivery providers, payment processors such as PayPal, fraud-prevention and security providers, professional advisers, and authorities when legally required. WhatsApp/Meta processes information when a visitor chooses to open or send a Cart2Chat WhatsApp message. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Merchants using Cart2Chat are independent controllers of information collected through their stores. Each merchant is responsible for its own privacy notice, lawful basis, message templates, WhatsApp configuration, retention practices, and compliance with applicable laws. MadarStack is not responsible for a merchant’s independent use of customer information.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use essential cookies for login, account security, shopping-cart and checkout functionality, language and display preferences, and fraud prevention. Optional analytics or marketing technologies, if enabled, will be handled in accordance with applicable consent requirements. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the store from working.
7. Retention
We retain order, billing, and transaction records for the period required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations. Account and support information is retained while needed to provide services and resolve disputes. License records, including activated domains, are retained while a license is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, refund, renewal, and audit purposes. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to backups and legal obligations.
8. International transfers
Our providers and customers may be located in different countries. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use available contractual, organizational, or legal safeguards required by applicable law. Third-party services such as PayPal and WhatsApp/Meta operate under their own international-transfer arrangements.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, encrypted connections where supported, software updates, and restricted administrative access. No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data; receive a portable copy; withdraw consent; or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some records may be retained when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
11. Children’s privacy
Our products and store are intended for business users and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our products, providers, or legal obligations. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes may also be communicated through our website or other appropriate channels.
